The power and wealth of 17th century Roman noble families attracted some of the best musicians from Northern Italy and beyond, bringing them not just the latest musical trends of the early Baroque, but also particular styles such as a predilection for all-female vocal ensembles. Musicke in the Ayre's Bath-based team of 3 sopranos (Jane Hunt, Philippa Neaverson and Maria Danishvar-Wilson) explore works for up to three female voices by Rossi, Carissimi, Kapsberger, Frescobaldi and Landi, accompanied by Din Ghani on archlute and baroque guitar.
