An extended version of our programme of multi-part lute ayres with texts by significant members of the Elizabethan and Jacobean courts (premiered during the Crook Peak Festival a few days earlier). Musicke in the Ayre will be joined by special guests, local father-and-son guitar duo Flying Guitars who will play some Dowland arranged for classical guitar(s). There'll be plenty of lute ayres by Dowland, Jones, Coprario, as well as a piece by Gibbons, and a lute solo by Cutting. The ticket includes a welcoming glass of sparkling or juice, plus interval tea and cake.
