Following an enthusiastic reception at the recent Frome Festival, Musicke in the Ayre will perform this delightful programme of music from the early Italian Baroque in the highly appropriate Italian Cloisters in the magnificent Gardens at Iford Manor (weather permitting!). There'll be works for up to 3 sopranos and continuo (played on archlute and baroque guitar by Din Ghani) by Monteverdi, Frescobaldi, Rossi, Francesca Caccini, and Barbara Strozzi, with lute solos by Piccinini. The sopranos are Maria Danishvar, Jane Hunt and Philippa Neaverson. The cafe does pretty good cakes too!
