Musicke in the Ayre bring to Frome Festival their current exploration of the repertoire for up to three equal voices with continuo from the early Italian Baroque, inspired by the legendary and much-imitated Concerto delle donne of the Este court in Ferrara. Beginning with a trio by Luzzaschi written for the original group, the programme spans across to Monteverdi, Frescobaldi, Cavalli, Strozzi and Rossi. Din Ghani will accompany sopranos Maria Danishvar, Jane Hunt and Philippa Neaverson on archlute and baroque guitar, making full use of the wonderful acoustic of Christ Church. Bar available!
