Standish Consort/English Wind Consort/Pembroke College Choir

St Swithun's Church, Leonard Stanley, GL10 3NP

3:00pm - 4:00pm

Political and religious upheaval, philosophical turbulence, and scientific innovation all made Renaissance and Baroque Europe a melting pot of ideas, resulting in some of the greatest music and art in Western history.
In this programme we will take you on a Grand Tour of Europe, taking in the musical “sights and sounds” of France, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and even a glimpse of music from the “New World”. Shining a light on some lesser-known works by well-known composers of the era, we are particularly pleased to be giving the UK premier performance of Francisco Valls’ Missa Quinti toni.
