Medieval & Renaissance songs, madrigals and motets
All Saints, Pembroke Rd, Clifton.
8.00pm
£10 at the door (students £5, U18s free)
Having celebrated the Turning of the Year in January, NOVA invites you to look forward to Spring - the theme of our next concert on April 23rd.
There'll be some seriously early music from 12thC Hildegard of Bingen and from the (original) Carmina Burana, some passionate Italian madrigals from Monteverdi and Marenzio, as well as a touch of Byrd and Weelkes in the quincentenary year of their death. We welcome back the virtuoso recorder player Kira Thomas and there will be readings in the original Middle English by Shauna Roach to accompany the medieval pieces. And a nod to Shakespeare too on his birthday. We hope you'll be there at All Saints, in Pembroke Rd, Clifton on Sunday April 23rd at 8.00pm. Programme at the door £10. Students £5 and accompanied U18s free.
