An Introduction to Baroque Dance Rhythms: gavotte & gigue

Online via Zoom

11am - 12.30pm

Organiser: Clare Griffel / chair@swemf.org.uk

"...The dance and music must so nicely meet,
Each note must seem an eccho to your feet"*

Baroque Dance and music are intricately linked.  The workshop is a mix of lecture-demonstration and sections of participation giving attendees an opportunity to try out some of the steps to music typical of the period from composers such as Bach, Handel, Lully, Purcell, Telemann etc.

This online workshop is suitable for small spaces - Philippa uses a space of approximately 2mts x 2mts, but smaller will also work!

Please wear comfortable clothing and flexible shoes, preferably flat, or a pair of thick socks. No prior dance experience is required and you don't need a partner!

The workshop will be recorded and you can participate with your video off if you don't wish to appear on the video.
