The Waites of Gloucester are modelled on the band of musicians run by the City of Gloucester in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
Simon Pickard, Mark Venn, Fenella Spiers and Rachel Tedd are enthusiasts for the music of the Renaissance. Apart from the pleasure of playing together, they particularly enjoy introducing people to a range of instruments they may never otherwise have seen, and which sound distinctly different to modern ears. Between them, they have well over 100 instruments of the period.
For this concert, we are delighted to be joined by soprano Karen Jones.
