An afternoon of strings: two conversations followed by Q&A sessions

Online via Zoom

2.30pm

Organiser: Clare Griffel / chair@swemf.org.uk

Trainee viol maker Agnieska Nalazek will discuss with Marilyn Pocock her experience of training at West Dean College through the pandemic, and show us some photographs of the instrument she’s making.

Jacqui Robertson-Wade, gambist and baroque cellist, known to many for her viol teaching, workshops and publishing, and Michael Williamson, baroque violinist, teacher and director of period orchestra Warwickshire Baroque, will be in conversation with Clare Griffel about the differences between playing modern and early strings, and the challenges faced by players of modern strings when they start to play baroque instruments.

There is no charge to attend this event, but donations (which will be passed directly to the speakers) are invited.
