Mezzo Alice Simmons joins Din Ghani and his lutes in exploring a time when musical culture across Europe was transitioning from the Renaissance to the Baroque. Looking from two opposite ends of the continent, they offer songs by John Dowland, Robert Johnson and Henry Purcell from London, while from Venice they’ll look at Monteverdi, Francesco Cavalli and Barbara Strozzi. Refreshments available during the interval.
