Renaissance in Europe

The exciting early music ensemble 'English Wind Consort' present a programme that spans half of Europe over three centuries. Each half explores a pair of historically linked countries and features a variety of musical styles, all performed on historic Renaissance wind instruments. 

Part the first:

England and Spain - Featuring music by King Henry VIII, Victoria, Weelkes, Cabezon and more.

Part the second:

Italy and Germany - Featuring music by Guami, Hassler, Massaino, Praetorius and more.

Some of the music being performed has not been heard since composition in the 16th and 17th century and will be being premiered on the night. 

Refreshments will be provided in the interval and there will be a retiring collection towards the church and the future endeavours of the consort.
