Ayres for lute and up to 4 voices by Dowland, Campion et al

St Andrew's Church, Peter Street, Frocester

6.00pm - 7.00pm

Free entry, retiring collection

Musicke in the Ayre have given over 115 concerts of 16/17th century music for voice(s) and lute across the UK and abroad since 2011; they bring their first programme involving a full SATB quartet of voices with lute to this delightful church on the edge of the Cotswolds. Local singers Clare Rangeley (soprano), Helen Hill (alto), Martyn Leighton (tenor) and Chris Hall (bass) join lutenist/leader Din Ghani for the first time to explore lute ayres by Dowland, Campion, Jones, Pilkington, Ford, Coprario and Rosseter. In keeping with the way many of these works were published, they will be performed in varying combinations of voices.
