‘Spanish and Latin American Renaissance Music’ - A Workshop for Voices and Instruments
St Mary’s Church, Yatton. BS49 4HH

Organiser: Althea Hamlyn / secretary@swemf.org.uk - 01453 811723 / 07752 921118
The music for this workshop is a mixture of works by composers, all of whom have a connection to Spain or Latin America. As music was developed, and the New World discovered, Spanish composers travelled over and took up positions of musical authority in large South American cities, composing for the church and the people who frequented them. This music is a glimpse into that time and a chance for us to work on how singers and instrumentalists interact. There may even be some percussion!
The music will include:
-
Anon: Hanacpachap Cussicuinin
-
Fransicso Valls: Missa a 6
-
Pucanol: Tantum Ergo
-
Padilla: Ego Flos Campi
